There is a joke and a lesson implicit in my last entry.

Lest anyone misunderstand, I will clarify slightly.

The joke is not an ironic parody of fanaticism, 
and the lesson is not that it is patently 
ridiculous to refuse to engage in rational 
discourse about matters of faith.
