This isn't the best of my poems (though it has
its strong points), but I thought it was
appropriate for the season.

Atlantis, Nightfall

Full fathom five my last lover lies,

Her bones painted agate,

She has caverns for eyes

And nothing about her in my mind doth remain,

but has suffered a sea-change

Into something pale and strained.

Full fathom five and nothing is left,

Save that which is forgotten

And has forgotten its breath.

And each thing that was, shall so be again,

And the oceans shall empty

And be absolved of all sin.

Full fathom five my last lover lies:

There is nothing that lives now.

There is nothing that dies.
