Normally I feel that explanations and parables don't travel in the same circles, but that last one warrants at least a little discussion.

There are three lessons contained in the Parable of the Fist.

The first lesson applies solely to practitioners of the martial arts... that lesson is "don't hit a Shaolin Master."

The second lesson has a great deal of martial arts application, but it also applies to most other aspects of life... that lesson may be found in Hagbard Celine's Never Whistle While You're Pissing.

The third lesson is a mystery that I expect we'll all experience first hand sooner or later.
