Submitted for your consideration: Read the entire article; the relevant point is not that someone killed themselves, but that passing motorists encouraged the act.

Jacob says: "This is an abject waste. Although human life is not inherently precious, one must always balance the cost of one's actions against the possible rewards. I wouldn't have stopped my car to try to talk her down off the bridge -- she was obviously a lost cause -- but telling her to jump served no useful purpose."

Flapjack says: "Human life may not be inherently precious, but it is inherently valuable. A show of support from passing motorists wouldn't have cost anyone anything significant, and it would have likely saved this woman's life. People make me sick."

Grim says: "Jump bitch. I hope the fall paralyzes you and that you live for years in agony. Show some consideration for the rest of us next time... if you really want to kill yourself, then do it in private where no one can interfere. If you aren't serious about killing yourself, and you just want people to tell you that you are important, that your life is worthwhile, and that you will be missed... let me assure you that you aren't, it isn't and you won't be. End it now... and there's no fucking need to hold up traffic while you do it."
